Mine… All Mine!

I did it! It took over 51/2 years of work, sweat, outrageously high rates, and dangerously coming close to failing. But with a head cold, on a chilly, rainy, New York afternoon we traipsed across & down town to the only branch of our bank on the East coast and… I paid off my car!

Now, I know this is something people do every day, all over the world. But I have never done it. This is my first. And I love my car. It looks as good today as it did when I bought it way back in 1996. It drives so well too!

It has been having a rest for the past year out in Long Island, but hey, I wouldn’t mind having a rest for a year in that beautiful part of the state! It’s rest is almost up, and as we drive on to Los Angeles this fall I will be safe in the knowledge that I don’t owe anyone for it. Not a penny.

I do have to say that I would have never accomplished this without great help from friends and family throughout the years. Thank you all. I suppose it’s really a community car. Well loved and used by all.
